Why eco-union?
According to the UN Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, in the last 50 years, humans have changed ecosystems more rapidly and extensively than in any comparable period in human history, largely to meet the growing demands of food, fresh water, timber, fiber and fuel.
This fact has generated a considerable loss and largely irreversible loss in the diversity of life on Earth. At the same time, the assessment shows that, with appropriate actions, it is possible to reverse the degradation of many ecosystem services over the next 50 years, but it is required substantial changes in policy and practice that at present are not ongoing.
In eco-union we know that to face to the noted challenges of the twenty-first century is essential the active participation of all sectors of society. This participation and working together are the elements that can make citizens to become true agents of change.
For this reason, we work to create agents of change towards sustainability among companies, institutions, governments, opinion leaders, managers, professionals, etc.. to catalyze the transition towards a new paradigm, all this through our training projects for sustainability, environmental advice and awareness-raising actions.
As a non-profit organization, eco-union brings an innovative and informative educational function that seeks to promote the changing values in society and in business through the search for solutions leading towards new models of sustainable development.
